What limitations exist regarding L-Carnitine supplementation?

A

L-Carnitine's primary role is to transport long-chain fatty acids for beta-oxidation, but for non-deficient individuals, it is not rate-limiting in fat oxidation. Consequently, supplementation does not significantly enhance fat oxidation in those with adequate baseline carnitine levels, and its oral bioavailability is poor without insulin co-ingestion.

This is one answer. The complete system — the psychology, the biology, and the method — is in the book.
