Q

How does information overload contribute to distraction?

From 5 years of verified research · Vassili Sandqvist
A

Information overload occurs when the brain is bombarded with too many tasks or pieces of information simultaneously. This can overwhelm System 2, which can only handle a limited number of tasks at once. As a result, important information may be missed, and the individual may resort to System 1, leading to hasty and often incorrect decisions.

This is one answer. The complete system — the psychology, the biology, and the method — is in the book.
