Q

How do System 1 and System 2 differ in their functioning?

From 5 years of verified research · Vassili Sandqvist
A

System 1 is fast, automatic, and requires little energy, handling routine tasks without conscious thought. In contrast, System 2 is slower, more deliberate, and energy-intensive, activated when complex thinking is required. For example, while driving, System 1 manages routine actions, but in an emergency, System 2 engages to analyze the situation and make decisions.

This is one answer. The complete system — the psychology, the biology, and the method — is in the book.
