To improve endurance, one must train specifically for the activity they wish to excel in. For example, if someone wants to run marathons, they should focus on running. Similarly, if someone wants to improve their performance in CrossFit, they should engage in CrossFit training. General fitness does not translate directly to specific endurance in different activities.
