What is the relationship between TSH and thyroid hormones?
Thyroid-stimulating hormone (TSH) is produced by the pituitary gland and regulates the production of T3 and T4. When T3 and T4 levels are low, TSH levels increase to stimulate the thyroid gland to produce more hormones. Conversely, high levels of T3 and T4 suppress TSH production. This negative feedback loop is essential for maintaining hormonal balance.
