What is the atherogenic mechanism involving LDL particles?

From 5 years of verified research · Vassili Sandqvist
A

The atherogenic mechanism begins when LDL particles penetrate the intima of arterial walls, particularly at sites of irregular endothelial shear stress. Once inside, LDL undergoes oxidation, which triggers an inflammatory response, leading macrophages to engulf the oxidized LDL and transform into foam cells that aggregate into fatty streaks, eventually forming atheromatous plaques.

This is one answer. The complete system — the psychology, the biology, and the method — is in the book.
