Manipulation is the exploitation of cognitive shortcuts to influence behavior without the target's awareness, leading them to act against their better judgment. Unlike persuasion, which relies on accurate information and valid arguments, or coercion, which employs direct force or threats, manipulation operates subtly and often goes unnoticed by the target.
