What does true tolerance require?

True tolerance does not equate to approval or the absence of limits. It allows for disapproval of certain practices while still treating individuals with dignity and legal equality. Additionally, tolerance has principled exceptions; behaviors that directly harm others fall outside the realm of tolerance and into the domain of law and ethics.
