A 2011 meta-analysis found that combinations of caffeine and green tea extract produced an additional weight loss of 0.4–0.5kg (1.1 lbs) over 12 weeks compared to placebo. While this effect is statistically significant, it is clinically modest and disappears if a caloric deficit is not maintained.
