Q

How does red blood cell deformability affect oxygen delivery?

From 5 years of verified research · Vassili Sandqvist
A

Normal red blood cells are highly deformable, allowing them to pass through capillaries smaller than their diameter. However, conditions that impair red blood cell deformability, such as sickle cell disease or dehydration, can increase blood viscosity and hinder capillary perfusion, thus limiting oxygen delivery.

This is one answer. The complete system — the psychology, the biology, and the method — is in the book.
