A

As we age, lean mass tends to decline due to sarcopenia, which begins around age 30 at a rate of about 0.5–1% per year if resistance training is not performed. Since lean mass is metabolically active, losing 5kg (11 lbs) of it can reduce RMR by approximately 65 kcal/day, impacting overall weight management.
